Signing In to Your Zoom Cloud Meeting: A Step-by-Step Guide for Students and Employees

As a student or employee of George Mason University, you have access to Zoom cloud meetings, a powerful tool for online collaboration and communication. With Zoom, you can host virtual meetings with up to 300 participants, share screens, and record sessions. To get started, follow these simple steps to sign in to your Zoom account.

For Smartphone Users

If you're using a smartphone, you can download the Zoom app from your app store. Once installed, launch the app and sign in with your NetID and Patriot Pass password.

Additional Integration Options

For added convenience, you can also install the Zoom app on your PC or Mac from the Software Center (PC) or Self Service (Mac). This will allow you to integrate Zoom with Outlook, enabling you to schedule meetings directly from your email client.

Requesting an Upgraded Account

If you need more features than those offered by the basic account, you can request an upgraded account through the Zoom Support button. With a Pro account, you'll be able to host virtual meetings for up to 24 hours with up to 300 participants.

Accessing Your Mason Institutional License

To access your Mason institutional license, go to /signin and log in using your NetID and Patriot Pass password. Once logged in, you'll have access to all the features of Zoom cloud meetings.

Logging Out of Your Account

When you're finished using Zoom, be sure to select 'Sign Me Out From All Devices' located at the bottom of your profile page.

Important Notes for Retirees, Alumni, and Generic Accounts

Please note that retirees, alumni, and generic accounts are not eligible for the Mason institutional license. Additionally, when employees and students are no longer active at George Mason University, they will no longer be able to access their Mason Zoom account.

Automatic Account Establishment

Zoom meetings accounts are automatically established for each person on first log in. Active students, faculty, and staff are eligible for Zoom products. If you have any questions or need assistance with signing in or using your Zoom account, feel free to reach out to the Zoom Support team.
